Iran doc wins honorary award in Russia

Iranian documentary ‘Where Are We Going?’ has received an honorary diploma from the 22nd edition of the Green Vision film festival in Russia.

Written and directed by Reza Majlesi, the environmental documentary ‘Where Are We Going?’ warns about waste disposal and its environmental repercussions in northern Iran.

The short documentary takes the audience to Saravan County which is the biggest waste dump in Northern Iran and tries to show the hazards of waste for the scenic nature of Rasht, the capital city of Gilan Province.

Majlesi has interviewed experts about the waste dump and delivered their warning against the hazardous effects it can have on public health.

The documentary has recently won a silver medal at short Films section of the Handle Climate Change Film Festival in China.

The Green Vision is an International environmental film festival in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

It is aimed at raising environmental awareness with the help of visual media; highlighting the role of environmental films and TV programs in raising environmental awareness.

The 22nd edition of the Green Vision was held on November 21-24, 2017.
